Here’s a story about a place,
A wee bit scary for your taste.
Pregnant women and children beware,
For disaster may strike if you walk on and dare! (i.e you’ll probably piss yourself)
Hey gang! Since it’s the month of all Hallows’ Eve, we thought we’d tell you guys all about our spooky adventure in the Berlin Dungeon (ques lightning and thunder). Conceived as a live show, with real actors and a lot of horrid twists and turns, the journey is aimed to introduce the visitor to various scary moments in the history of the city.
It begins with the mean jolly joker at the entrance who leads you to a dark cave with a wooden “elevator”.
He warns you that what you may see will stay with you forever and wishes you luck on your dreadful endeavor.
He directs to the “elevator” which you have to go on .
Lights on, lights off then POOF…He’s gone!
At the first stop, you get to know Pater Roderich and his scary tales. For a minute there it felt like Voldemort came back from the dead to scare you shitless! Pages of the book he reads from flip on there own almost tearing off and in the blink of an eye you here the creek of a door leading you to a boat.
Once you get off the boat which by the way, DID NOT take you gently down the stream, you are directed to a room with a deranged surgeon who paints a not so pretty picture about bloody stories from the time of the plague. Expect to feel escaped leeches moving on the benches where you rest listening to the story…
Next comes the torture room where you learn about tips and tricks on how to use various torture instruments which are eventually demonstrated on a “lucky” visitor. Cindy was that “lucky” visitor people! It was all fun and games until….. they locked her in a cage!!!!
The most interesting experience for us was going through the labyrinth of mirrors, trying to find the way through the catacombes. Frai More blinded by the darkness and the fog- the entire experience takes place in the dark- we follow each other or we spend some seconds trying to recognize ourselves in the distorted mirrors. We end up in the catacombes of Hohenzollern where we meet a white ghost appearing and disappearing out of the darkness. It is the local famous white lady whose presence is told to bring a lot of bad luck. That’s her peeping in the background…..
One more scenery and we are done.
We descend wooden stairs to the front of a butchery, where we meet a lady with slurred speech and quite disoriented. She tells us of her friend Carl Grossman, the butcher, who has a taste for the peculiar. ” He’s had quite a few ladies work for him in his butchery but strangely enough each and every one of them suddenly disappears a few days after getting the job!” she says. She leads us to a room with a dining table filled with sausages and tells us to have a seat Carl will be with us shortly. The room goes pitch black.
Then we hear a deep terrifying voice with a hint of the crazies say how delicious…no..delightful it is to have us over. Chairs are pulled back and forth we feel knives on our backs, utensils flying everywhere, screams left and right ( at this point we’re pretty sure this is it for us) and suddenly the lights go on. A police officer shows up and informs us that the butcher was actually a famous criminal who turned his victims into the products sold in the shop. Thank God we didn’t taste anything!
That’s all for today folks! Do have yourself a Freaky Friday.
Till next time StyleBuds over&out
